Drypoint etching

In drypoint etching, the motif is scratched directly onto a printing plate with a fine needle – line by line, without corrections.

The burrs created in this process later hold the ink and give the line its characteristic, slightly soft expression. This is precisely what makes this technique so vibrant.

The plate is then inked and pressed onto the paper under high pressure. Each individual print is the result of this process – with small differences that make it unique.

Thus, a picture of water is created in a slow, deliberate process, making genuine craftsmanship tangible.
